Virgin Australia Makes Offer to Purchase Skywest

Virgin Australia, Australia’s second largest airline, is announcing that it plans to take over regional carrier Skywest for $102 million US.  It also says that it has bought a 60 percent share in domestic rival Tiger Airways Australia for $35 million Australian.  Singapore Airlines also has a 10 percent stake in Virgin Australia.  Read more about this at Yahoo Finance.
